April 22, 2005 - I got the furring strip and peg board mounted and painted. I also got all of the base trim cut and painted and ready to nail in. |

April 27, 2005 - Last Saturday, James Faxon helped me take down the cabinets from the existing garage and re-hang them in the new shop. I spent Sunday through today and prepping and painting the cabinets and nailing in the base trim. I still need to paint the bottom cabinets and all of the doors and drawers, and cut and paint shelves for the far left shelf unit. On the far right edge of this shot you can 3/4" MDF that I will use for the counter top and on the floor by the ladder is the 1x2 MDF that I will use for the edge band around the counter top. |

September 15, 2005 - I was laid up with a bad back for a few months, so progress stopped temporarily, but I was finally able to finish up over the last few weeks. I finished painting the cabinets (the cabinet doors were a pain), then cut and mounted the counter top, edge banding and back splash. Hooks in the pegboard got all of the hanging stuff put away. By adding some steel shelving units and using the tops of the upper cabinets, I made room for all of the boxes and miscellaneous junk. As I moved stuff over from the old garage, I went through and organized everything (and pitched quite a bit of junk). Lastly, I installed telephone and network hookups. |
